BEING SAFE AND NOT SORRY

In keeping with its renewed drive to communicate that “Safety is not an Option”, UTE Engineering is proud to work with and sponsor the National Occupational Safety and Health Awards 2018 organized by the National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) of Sri Lanka. The award ceremony was held on the 25th of January at BMICH.

Wanting to be safe rather than sorry, UTE Engineering would be investing more in improving safety standards for all its stakeholders and in keeping with the belief that “Safety is Not Optional”.

UTE Engineering finds this Awards ceremony as a very timely key initiative of NIOSH to be associated with and promote the improvement of Occupational Safety Standards in Sri Lanka.

National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health under purview of Ministry of Labour and Labour Relations was established on 28th April 2005. This institution dedicates to provide a good working environment to each person through suitable health and safety procedures and prevention of occupational accidents and diseases, and follow up of proper safety policy and methodologies. NIOSH provides necessary education and training for employers and employees who can obtain benefits from the above trainings or any person. Mentioned below are some of their initiatives;

• Conducting of diploma courses on occupational safety and health
• Training Courses on Occupational Safety and Health for Industrial Nurses
• Providing of environment measurements for establishments & Hazard Identification
• Consultations and Environment monitoring
